well... we could take that part out then, I just liked his enthusiasm!
I would like to see the grapple system in KC like in the movies where the monster's would lock up or HUG kinda. It's a weird look but in the end you should be able to slam your opponent to the ground to gain the upperhand. It could be like the older smackdown vs raw game where the characters would stand across from each other then the first person to press the correct corresponding button on the screen will knockdown the other monster. I think it could also be used as secondary grapple system that can be executed mid game, the only problem is the monsters that don't have ARMS!!!!
You are in luck! This is almost exactly the system we have planned...
simon your simply awsome
Wasn't that almost exactly like the one implemented in Unleashed? The only difference is in Unleashed, the instigator does a throw move while the defender simply trips the opponent instead of both monsters having the ability to smack down each other.
What im implying is in alot of movies the monsters dont actually pic each other and throw sometimes they just grapple with each other (which looks like a kaiju sized hug). It looks like their sizing each other up. The most famous form of this is in godzilla tokyo sos. But im just suggesting this, doesn't mean its really going to happen! In the game
I like the idea of grappling!
Yeah not like actual wwe grappling but something more grounded where you can lock up and be able to throw the other monster out the way or something. It be helpful if it stunned your enemy and then charge your energy so you turn the match around. Just my two cents. I think whatever simon comes up with will be way better than what im describing.
Yeah! I agree!
I barely like john cena and i dont want a CENA-ZILLA!!!
Well Simon Strange did mention that your idea was pretty much what they were going for already, so be happy.
Though I have seen Godzilla throw monsters in the air in the Showa films before (like Godzilla vs. Megalon). He also threw Kaiser Ghidorah around like a ragdoll in Final Wars, so it's not like there's no precedent for Godzilla flinging monsters around. I'm assuming they didn't do it more often due to budget reasons.
Oh yeah that's one of godzilla greatest traits is his strength but i was thinking something more grounded cuz it was a memorable moment to me. This thread is about what you want to see in the game so there's no right or wrong. What would you like to see?!
I'm okay with anything, really. The grapple system changed completely from GSTE to GU, and I accepted it, so any change here is something I'll accept, as well, especially if the system is fully explained and debated among the fans to create a much more polished system.
I hope we still get to see some of the zany throws that we've seen in other Godzilla games. One of my favorite things about the old games is the throws.
G:U had a really cool grappling system - but it added an extra step before you could execute the throws - which I think confused a lot of people. Without clarity, cool features are just wasted!
In Kaiju Combat, grabbing will put monsters into a "grapple" state - where they vie for dominance. Strength and Weight are important here - the monster who initiated the grapple has +2 strength. Either monster can try to "hoist" their opponent - which then allows them to pickup + throw like in StE. But either monster can also attempt to simply "throw" from the grapple state - which pushes both monsters apart and does minimal damage.
This means that being hit with a grab attack doesn't necessarily mean you are doomed - you have a real chance to escape. If you're a strong monster, you can even punish grabs with a full reversal!
Now that's what I'm talking about!
