Just wanted to point this out.
These Batman '66 crossovers they keep doing just get more amazing with each one.
Now when are we getting the crossover where Batman '66 finally meets Christopher Reeve Superman (or even George Reeves Superman)?
Duggan on GoTG. I'm excited.
It may not be Justice League/Power Rangers, but I think it's safe to say that Looney Tunes/DC Comics is the second best comic crossover of 2017.
Also, let's face it, it's worth buying these books just for these amazing variant covers.
R.I.P. Archie Sonic, 1992-2017. Never forget his final words:
"All I wanted was to live in a world where I could go fast".
He died so that IDW Sonic could live.
Wait... Archie's Sonic comic is over? What about their Mega Man comic?
Yep, Archie's long running Sonic comic has been officially cancelled. It was suddenly put in a delay right after the last issue came out in December 2016, and after seven months of speculation and rumors, Sega finally came out and said the book was cancelled, and that IDW would start publishing a new series of Sonic comics in 2018. But the way the book was delayed before being cancelled meant that the series ended in the middle of a flashback story arc of the first few Sonic games, with no conclusion or real ending to the comic.
And the Mega Man comic has been dead for over a year. The last few issues ended setting up an adaptation for Mega Man 4 and an epilogue with Dr. Light, but that was it. Archie has pretty much given up making comic books on other properties and are completely focused on Riverdale and promoting it. Not only that, but Archie has been in deep financial trouble, what with getting into a lawsuit with years after a former writer sued for the rights of the characters he made for the Sonic comic, and with the second Sonic/Mega Man crossover getting a lukewarm reception that gave it slow sales, which caused Archie to loses millions of dollars because they blew it on getting the rights from other Sega and Capcom characters and having them show up during the crossover. And Sega and Archie have had tense relations these last few years.
TL;DR Archie's incompetence, mismanagement, lawsuits, and money issues resulting in the Sonic comic getting cancelled. On the plus side, I'm sure IDW will do a great job with it.
Hmm, so DC will now be publishing a book called the Terrifics, starring a group of four heroes, consisting of a guy who is one of the smartest person's on the planet, a woman who can turn herself invisible, a guy who stretch his body like rubber (and who also has a comedic personality), and a guy who looks like a big, deformed monster (and who also has the power to turn himself into a different element).
Wow, what a great idea this is! It's amazing! Hell, you might even say it's....fantastic.
Too bad Marvel doesn't have anything like this.
I'm curious if Marvel will C&D them unless DC markets it as a parody.
Nah, I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen. Even though it's pretty obvious what the Terrific's are suppose to be a homage to, the team consists of longtime DC characters, so they can't sue them just because of similarities.
And also, for Marvel to send a C&D at DC, that would imply that Marvel actually cared about the Fantastic Four enough to protect their likeness.
