So. You get canon Broly, who may turn out to be an extremely cool antagonist. Then you get canon Bardock, who'll be the total antithesis of what we've come to expect out of Saiyans. This is why letting canonicity dictate what characters you can enjoy shouldn't be the way to go; if "canon" Bardock sucks, there's always the version of him introduced in the special. Likewise, if this version of Broly doesn't work for you, there's the older movie version, who - motivations aside - was a complete muscle-bound monster with unique abilities and an incredible transformation. I'm very curious to see where Toriyama will go here, and if anyone working with him pulled him off to the side like "hey, maybe we shouldn't do this with Bardock", and went in a slightly different direction from Minus. This is all assuming that's what's happening, anyway.
