Just wish it had online trading. I'd get it in a heartbeat if I could just get a freaking Politoed.
It took them 2 years, but it's finally been confirmed Detective Pikachu is coming to the West, with a release of March 23rd worldwide. Probably because of the movie or something; maybe they want us to know who he is.
Hey guys, remember when 2016 did that thing where they distributed a event legendary/mythical every month? Well, they're doing it again, this time with regular legends for some reason. Why they are doing this, no one knows, but perhaps they are buying time for the Switch game.....
These events work for all Gen 7 games. From my understanding, it seems you get a legend depending on the game; the version exclusive that's not present, so for example, in the February event, Sun and Ultra Sun players get Palkia, while Moon and Ultra Moon players get Dialga. This also marks the first time Zygarde will be available legitimately as a Shiny Pokémon.
The event for Dialga/Palkia has gone live. It's available until the end of February, so get them while you can. They are in store code events, so you're gonna have to travel for this one.
They can be redeemed in all Gen 7 games and what you get is determined which version you redeem them in. Sun and Ultra Sun players get Palkia and Moon and Ultra Moon Players get Dialga. They are level 60 in the vanilla games and level 100 with a Gold Bottle Cap in the Ultra games.
The video is interesting because it gives a bit of backstory on the concepts of Dialga and Palkia. If you're interested in their origins, it's worth a watch.
Bit late, but the second legendary promotion is active. It's the month of Regigigas and Heatran. To get these, you had to sign up for a newsletter if you're American while Europeans can download from internet.
Just like last time, what you get is determined by version. Sun/Ultra Sun players get Regigigas while Moon/Ultra Moon players get Heatran. They are level 60 in the vanilla games and level 100 with a Gold Bottle Cap in the Ultra games. (I'm still confused as to why Regigias is the exclusive instead of Cresslia, but oh well).
This video explains the abilities of Heatran and Regigigas. Can't say I agree with it, though; Regigigas is not a good Pokémon and being forced to wait 5 turns and that resets when it switches does it no favours.
Continuing the yearly legendary events, this month we're getting Raikou and Entei. In America, they will be distributed by codes via Target stores (I feel dumb because I have no idea what Target is LOL) from April 22nd to April 29th. In Canada, they will be distributed by newsletter. Europeans get via downloading from it from Mystery Gift (I feel so bad for Americans with these events right now.)
As per usual, determined by version. Sun and Ultra Sun players get Entei while Moon and Ultra Moon players get Raikou. They are level 60 in the vanilla games and level 100 with a Gold Bottle cap in the Ultra games.
The video this time talks about Raikou's speed and Entei knowing Sacred Fire. Feels so random compired to the last two; but I do feel Sacred Fire ain't so special anymore as it's no longer a signature move starting Gen 6.
The final Pokémon in the Pokédex currently, Zeraora, has been officially revealed. It is an Electric type Pokémon.
It's going to have a major role in the upcoming Pokémon movie (As usual), but nothing is known on what that is yet.
Into May and this month we have the Xerneas and Yveltal distribution. Like the Dialga/Palkia events, these are in store code events and last until the end of the month.
We know the drill by now; what you get is determined by version. Sun/Ultra Sun players get Yveltal, while Moon/ Ultra Moon players get Xerneas. They are level 60 in the vanilla games and level 100 with a Gold Bottle Cap in the Ultra games.
This video goes into their design concepts and their abilities. If your interested, it's worth looking into.
The one that everyone has been waiting for (And quite possibly the best of the events since it's actually special) this month we have a Shiny Zygarde and it's the first time that it's legit. In America, you can get it from GameStop until the 24th and Europeans can download from the internet until the 22nd.
You can get it in all Gen 7 games, with it being level 60 in the vanilla games and level 100 with a Gold Bottle Cap in the Ultra games. It has the ability Aura Break, but you can get one with Power Construct using the machine on Route 16, but be careful not to disassemble the Shiny or the shininess is lost forever.
The video talks about Zygarde's forms and exclusive moves (Except Core Enforcer for some reason; must be so "powerful" everyone forgot about it LOL).
Meanwhile, on the other side of things, Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee have been officially confirmed by the Pokémon company and it will release worldwide on November 16th for the Switch. They have also stated we will be getting Gen 8 next year in the later half.
Also, completely out of the blue, a 1997 Pokemon Gold demo leaked, and it features a number of beta maps and original Pokemon that didn't make it into the final game!
The full list can be viewed here, including the new Pokemon names, their types, and other great details: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...Bpw-SO76uZt6WNSl0UsD5yq_dI/htmlview?sle=true#
And thus the legendary events continue, even after the best one has passed. This month has Tornadus and Thundurus up for grabs. In Europe, it is available until the 22nd via the internet and America gets it through Target stores from July 13th-28th.
As per usual, what you get depends on version. Sun and Ultra Sun players get Thundurus while Moon and Ultra Moon players get Tornadus. They are level 60 in vanilla games and level 100 with a Gold Bottle Cap in the Ultra games.
The video talks about their "concept" (More like "oh they're roaming Pokémon and the weather changes when you're on their route") and the stragegy, though the don't mention Tornadus here, but Landorus instead (PLEASE for the love Pokémon nerf this thing, people are sick of seeing it on everyone and their grandma's team at this point) and how Thundurus was once popular because of Prankster.
The most adorable way to catch Rabies
Y" know a bit random but I wonder
Why didn't they just go with the Therian Formes from the get go
People say that their humanoid forms look too similar, perhaps that's the point IDK
It's August and with a new month comes a new set of legends. This time we have the weather changing duo of Kyogre and Groudon. These are store events so get the codes while it lasts.
As the normal at this point, what you get depends on version. Sun and Ultra Sun players get Kyogre while Moon and Ultra Moon players get Groudon. They are level 60 in the vanilla games and level 100 with a Gold Bottle Cap in the Ultra games.
This video talks about the Primal Reversion concept. While I think it's decent enough concept, it makes the original forms obsolete like there's no point in using them because Primal is a straight upgrade (Especially Groudon, you practically never see anyone use the normal form anymore; at least normal Kyogre has a few niches).
Getting close to the end of these events, this month has Latias and Latios available. In America, it's code event from a store called Best Buy and Europeans have it as an internet download.
Same deal like the others. what you get depends on version. Sun and Ultra Sun players get Latias while Moon and Ultra Moon players get Latios. They are level 60 in the vanilla games and level 100 with a Gold Bottle Cap in the Ultra games.
This video goes into the concepts of the Eon duo. They mention they gave them the Psychic typing to show their power but wanted them to fly too, so instead of the Flying type, they got the Levitate ability instead. That bit was at least interesting.
The forums were down for quite some time, so I wasn't able to post for a while, but here's some new stuff.
First, nearing the end of these events, Reshiram and Zekrom are this month's legends. Sun and Ultra Sun players get Zekrom while Moon and Ultra Moon players get Reshiram. They are level 60 in the vanilla games and level 100 with a Gold Bottle Cap. This video talks about their theme and abilities (Which are basically fancy clones of Mold Breaker).
Second, Zeraora is now officially available for Western territories via codes from various dates depending were you are. It is level 50 and holding an Air Balloon. This one is for Ultra players only; justified as it's data doesn't exist in the vanilla games.
Finally, we now know the identity of the new Pokémon being introduced in the Let's Go games. It's name is Meltan and it's a Steel type. Pokémon GO is needed to obtain it.
Separate names with a comma.
