All of the bio-niches we know from Earth have their kaiju-sized analogs in Hollow Earth, including the scavengers! Murietum are roaming pack kaiju who swarm and fight in groups. But when no likely targets are around, they content themselves by picking clean carcasses of other battles. There is beauty in their terrible efficiency.

Love how it looks less like just a giant rat, there are so many different aspects of different animals that they all just blend in and form their own creature. The design of the mouth is also a great aspect of this one, solidifies it being a scavenger primarily and seems to be perfect for eating the Calyxes Armis. Overall I think this is yet another great card to come from Series 2.

Minor note: Calyxes Armis should be Calyxes armis, as the species name in biology isn't capitalized. Though, I could understand bypassing this rule for consistency-sake.

Other than that, I really like the card! I had a feeling this one would be mine's predator. Well done!

So much hair, much odd :eek

Anyhow, the Murietum looks like a cross between a lion and wolf, much unlike their earlier resemblance to naked mole rats. Not quite sure what to make of it, but it looks menacing enough, so it gets a plus from me :thumbsup

Rat + porcupine + hyena...? Not bad.

For some reason this monster reminds me to a Death Jackal, maybe because of the spines and the menacing look. I like the design!

What's the relationship of how these things hunt in a pack? Are they like lions, females go out hunting and the male stays back and watches the den? Or are they like wolves, where the female stays with their pups at times until they are old enough to be left alone and the rest of the pack hunts?

I think of them more as scavengers, so ants might actually be a better comparison. They all spread out and individually forage for food. When one finds a likely food source, more and more Murietum are drawn to the location. This is why the Calyxes are such good food - they respond to threats by swarming in.

I'm guessing the Murietum are somewhere in the middle of the food chain, at least when isolated from one another.

By attributes & stats, a single Murietum is a below-average fighter. Stuff can happen - even Loodicriz can beat X-I occasionally! But generally adding Murietum to your team is about the TREMENDOUSLY POWERFUL scavenging ability.

Victory isn't about winning individual fights (well, it can be, but not necessarily) - and the Murietum are the very strongest anti-kaiju-on-kaiju victory card created thus far. They do a great job of crushing decks like Maro or the Old-Fashioned Brawl. Those decks, which have been pretty strong, now need to pack cards specifically to beat Murietum.
