Dorirudon ドリル歯 Height: 86 meters Weight: 42,000 metric tons Gender: Male Combat Style: Melee Primary Attacks: Teeth, Tail Secondary Attacks: Body Roll, Hand Claws Primary Weapon: Drill Lunge Secondary Weapon: Acidic Gas Breath Energy Style: Consumption Overview: Dorirudon, is a massive burrowing reptilian creature who's territory runs underneath the rocky mountains of North America. His throat and belly are covered in tooth-like protrusions that he uses paired with sharp claws to bore through the earth. Rotating his body similar to how a crocodile performs a death roll. This makes his body akin to a whole saw. Normally feeding on other large subterranean organisms, he has been known to surface on occasion. As a last resort against attackers, he can spew a cloud of gas into the air from his mouth that has acidic properties. The spikes on his body are made entirely out of ore deposits from Dorirudon's strange diet. And like the teeth of a shark, have extra rows that grow out to replace the damaged ones on the surface of his body. Origin: In the 1960's a geological survey was being performed in the central Rockies by a team led by geologist Akio Mori. During the survey, one of Akio's assistants had accidentally broke through a thin layer of earth and rock, plunging several meters into a hole. This accident, would lead Akio and his team to one of the most monumental discoveries in Earth's history. A network of tunnels that ran deep into the earth like veins to a heart. And that heart, was an immense subterranean ecosystem the likes of which the world has never seen. Carnivorous isopods as big as cattle, bizarre crustaceans with limbs like telephone poles, and of course..him. An enormous apex predator that Akio had dubbed "Dorirudon" or "drill-tooth". Dorirudon seemed to be a species of reptillian creature with a powerful beak-like mouth. It has been speculated that perhaps these organisms were here since before the very mountains that stand today had even formed. When a sea first covered much of the surface. And over time, those same organisms slowly adapted to life underground, in an environment where the only light is bioluminescent or the result of ignited methane pockets. This strange ecosystem, has been dubbed "Okami's Cradle" after Sarutahiko Okami, the Japanese deity of Earth. Since Akio's discovery, Dorirudon has appeared to become more active near the surface. Causing cave-ins in mines and railroad tunnels along the Rockies. Attracted to the exposed mineral deposits for which is the cause of man's probing curiosity of the deep dark. Energy System: While eating organic material mainly from living things, such as the other inhabitants that live with him underground, Dorirudon has also been known to eat different minerals from the earth. This makes mines and quarries a target for food. Ranged Combat: Due to the dietary habits of Dorirudon, he can produce a gas from the mixing of minerals and bodily fluids inside his stomach. This gas is then expelled forth with great pressure. The high levels of acidity in the gas cause it to rapidly dissolve and eat at organic matter on contact. Dorirudon himself has adapted immunity to the effects of the gas. Grappling: Being mostly on all fours, Dorirudon has a low center of gravity giving him an advantage when grappling. His powerful jaws clamp onto the target, then throwing them up into the air and batting them away with a swing of his powerful tail. Melee Combat: Dorirudon is most dangerous in close quarters. Spinning his body and lunging at the opponent with either his bite or a swing of his tail. Shredding the enemy into pieces from contact to the many sharp edges. Dorirudon is quite fast and agile for his squat posture and proportions. He can even stand up on two legs for short periods of time to increase his running speed. Weaknesses: During Dorirudon's drill lunge, he can only go straight forward. Though the armor is strong on his limbs, neck, and face, his hind rear flanks are much weaker to attacks.
